Island Dr.

Situated along the shoreline of Gun Lake, this concept explores a modern waterfront residence designed around seamless indoor-outdoor living and year-round entertaining. The site presented an opportunity to capitalize on sweeping lake views while creating a series of distinct outdoor rooms that transition naturally from the residence to the water's edge. Through careful site planning, grade manipulation, and architectural integration, the design balances clean contemporary forms with a warm, natural material palette of Indiana limestone, cedar, steel, and board-and-batten siding.

The exterior experience centers around a resort-inspired pool terrace featuring a Tresss movable-floor pool, covered outdoor kitchen, lakeside fireplace, multiple gathering spaces, integrated landscape lighting, and a private dock with boat storage. Every element was intentionally positioned to support a variety of experiences throughout the day - from active family recreation and waterfront entertaining to quiet evenings overlooking the lake.

Extensive 3D visualization was used throughout the design process to refine material selections, lighting, circulation, and the overall guest experience, resulting in a cohesive outdoor environment that celebrates both architecture and waterfront living.
